On Monday, April 8, 2024, a total solar eclipse will cross North America. In its path it will darken regions of Mexico, the United States and Canada. Among the Mexican cities that are along the path of totality are Mazatlán, Durango, Torreón, Monclova and Piedras Negras.

The duration of totality will vary depending on how centered you are on the path of totality, maxing out at up to 4 minutes and 27 seconds.
The eclipse will be seen in Mexico first from the Pacific in the city of Mazatlán, Sinaloa at 10:51 am (Central Mexico time) and will leave our country in the city of Piedras Negras, Coahuila at 11:09 am (Central Mexico time). from central Mexico). How can I observe the eclipse safely?
You will need lenses that are made with a filter that meets the ISO 12312-2 standard. DO NOT look directly at the sun without adequate protection, this will cause irreversible damage to your eyesight.
